One afternoon, a farmer was swimming in a lake with his sons. He was speculating about his careless boys, and if they would take care of his land. Suddenly, he felt a powerfully sharp pain on his back. As he turned, his eyes met with a bull shark. He frantically tried to swim away, but the shark zoomed after him. The farmer, who knew he might die, thoughtfully yelled to his sons, “Boys, there is hidden treasure in my fields!” His sons frightfully jumped out of the water, at the sight of a shark, and raced all the way to the fields, not once considering their poor father. They dug and dug and did not find any treasure, which started a big fight. Finding some seeds near the fields, the brothers,  who were so foolish, started throwing them at each other, scattering them all over the field. Thankfully, they stopped fighting, because they figured that they needed to help their father. The boys rushed back to the lake and found their dad was no longer alive. They were terribly sad to lose their ‘’Pa’’ who was a wonderful treasure to them. After that, they always helped in the fields, and they had the best crop anyone could ever have. They realized that the treasure was the fruit of their own labor.

Two months ago, I went to my grandparents’ house with my three sisters. We stayed there eight days. We had a wonderful time! In that time we made four quilts-one for each of us. We also went to the “Little House on the Prairie” musical! It was a lot of fun. After the play, we got to meet Melissa Gilbert! She gave a bag of things to Paige because Nonnie (my grandma) wrote her a letter and told her about Paige’s cancer. Melissa Gilbert gave us bracelets that support her children’s hospice.

Some of my favorite parts were going to the musical, going fishing and driving the boat with my grandpa Uh-Oh (I caught two fish=)). I enjoyed going to the Dallas World Aquarium (and seeing all the sharks there), and I especially loved quilting my quilt. Of course, I also loved getting ice cream and watching movies!

Thank you Nonnie and Uh-Oh for letting us come to your house!!! We had a great time!=)
