I have been working on a quilted wall hanging during our girl skills class at our co-op for about 9 months. Now it’s finally finished!!! Here it is:

A butterfly

One afternoon, a farmer was swimming in a lake with his sons. He was speculating about his careless boys, and if they would take care of his land. Suddenly, he felt a powerfully sharp pain on his back. As he turned, his eyes met with a bull shark. He frantically tried to swim away, but the shark zoomed after him. The farmer, who knew he might die, thoughtfully yelled to his sons, “Boys, there is hidden treasure in my fields!” His sons frightfully jumped out of the water, at the sight of a shark, and raced all the way to the fields, not once considering their poor father. They dug and dug and did not find any treasure, which started a big fight. Finding some seeds near the fields, the brothers,  who were so foolish, started throwing them at each other, scattering them all over the field. Thankfully, they stopped fighting, because they figured that they needed to help their father. The boys rushed back to the lake and found their dad was no longer alive. They were terribly sad to lose their ‘’Pa’’ who was a wonderful treasure to them. After that, they always helped in the fields, and they had the best crop anyone could ever have. They realized that the treasure was the fruit of their own labor.

At co-op, I am learning how to crotchet. It is a lot of fun! Three weeks ago, I crocheted a pony-tail. And a week ago, I started on a dish cloth. I’m still finishing it right now.

I recently got new glasses! I love them. They are purple, my favorite color. My aunt loves purple, and wants to steal mine.  =)Me, with my dishcloth and my ponytail!

We went to the corn maize on Tuesday. It was fun. They had a corn popper; it was shaped like a huge pillow. It was hard to walk on it without falling, but it was a lot of fun.

We went in a corn maze. If you went inside of an airplane, you could see how they shaped it. A worker there showed us a picture of what it looked like. It was shaped like a farmer on a tractor. I liked answering the questions at the different posts to help us get out.

We also fed six goats. We went on a hay ride and picked out a pumpkin. Faith, Benjamin, and Bradley went on the barrel ride. Some friends from church came with us too. We had a great time at the corn maize.
