On Monday evening, I put my ring on the wrong finger. Then, it wouldn’t come off! My family suggested a lot of options:
Dad: soap, pliers (because the ring looked bent), and gasp…he thought about a saw (actually got it out)
Mom: butter, ice it, elevate it
Paige: ”Try to twist it off.”
Michelle: “Search on the Internet and see what we can find.” We did and ended up icing it more, and then we wrapped the finger in dental floss and covered it with Vaseline.
Faith: ”Uh-oh”
Benjamin: ”Go to the doctor.”
Bradley: ”I don’t think we should use a saw.”
Finally, when my finger was turning discolored,
and swelling from trying everything, we went to the doctor at the med. clinic.
At the doctor, they had this cool ring-removing tool, and soon had my ring off!

These are some “cupcake” cookies that we made on Friday. They take about two days to make! Here is the recipe:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
INGREDIENTS FOR COOKIES:
2 sticks of butter @ room temp.
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs @ room temp.
2 teaspoons vanilla
6 cups all purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
DIRECTIONS:
Cream butter and sugar
Add eggs and vanilla
Mix dry ingredients together, then slowly add it to the wet mixture.
If the dough is too dry then add some water.
Roll out on a floured board using a floured rolling pin. Do not roll the dough too thin.
Cut out with cookie cutters.
Bake for 10-12 minutes. DO NOT let the cookies get brown.
After removing the cookie sheet, let the cookies sit on the sheet for 5 minutes before moving to cooling racks.
Let them sit on the racks for 24 hours so they can get good and dry.
INGREDIENTS FOR ICING:
2 Bags of powdered sugar
1 Tablespoon of vanilla
Enough water to achieve the consistency you want.
For color use either gel or liquid food coloring.
Hold the cookie upside down and dip it into the icing. Then, place the cookie back on the rack.
Let them sit out for 24 hours so the icing can dry. Enjoy!
As Moses the mako shark was gliding through the water, he was suddenly lifted from his home and taken from the beach. The humans quickly ‘’tagged’’ him with a tracking device. While the humans were headed back to the beach, Moses spotted the sea. Moses impatiently figured that he could jump all the way back home. It seemed the quickest way. Moving his flippers, Moses was just about to jump when one of the humans grabbed him by the tail, and would not let him go. Moses, who was also not giving up, foolishly struggled with all his might because he did not want to wait any longer. Suddenly, the human let him loose. ‘’I won!’’believed Moses. When Moses leaped out of the little water tank, he landed with a crash not a splash. Before the humans could carry him off the road, an enormous eighteen-wheeler, which was the most horrible thing Moses ever witnessed, zoomed over his body. Unfortunately, it crushed impatient Moses, the mako shark.

One afternoon, a farmer was swimming in a lake with his sons. He was speculating about his careless boys, and if they would take care of his land. Suddenly, he felt a powerfully sharp pain on his back. As he turned, his eyes met with a bull shark. He frantically tried to swim away, but the shark zoomed after him. The farmer, who knew he might die, thoughtfully yelled to his sons, “Boys, there is hidden treasure in my fields!” His sons frightfully jumped out of the water, at the sight of a shark, and raced all the way to the fields, not once considering their poor father. They dug and dug and did not find any treasure, which started a big fight. Finding some seeds near the fields, the brothers, who were so foolish, started throwing them at each other, scattering them all over the field. Thankfully, they stopped fighting, because they figured that they needed to help their father. The boys rushed back to the lake and found their dad was no longer alive. They were terribly sad to lose their ‘’Pa’’ who was a wonderful treasure to them. After that, they always helped in the fields, and they had the best crop anyone could ever have. They realized that the treasure was the fruit of their own labor.
